The smallest pasta factory in the world?
The tour kicks off with a visit to the Martelli Pasta factory, where spaghetti and penne are crafted in the ‘old way.’ Whether it’s the world’s smallest pasta workshop is debatable, but one thing is certain—it’s the most original! Our guide immerses you in the family-run company’s history, shedding light on how a small artisanal production reaches global markets. Explore the working rooms with an intriguing walk, tracing the journey from giant bags of flour to the iconic yellow packages, ready for shipping

The medieval castle of the vicars, the perfect ending of our tour
Ever wondered why castles are perched on hilltops? What was their purpose over the centuries? Why are dungeons so mysterious and gloomy? If you’re seeking answers to these questions while soaking in the enchanting views, the Castle of the Vicars in Lari is the perfect destination! Enjoy the atmosphere of a perfectly preserved century-old castle, personally experiencing the sensations prisoners felt in the ‘inferno’ dungeon. Enjoy stunning vistas from the castle walls as you delve into the intriguing history behind these iconic structures.

A butcher in his shop
Our private tour continues with a visit to the town’s butcher, providing an intimate look into the art of crafting salami and prosciutto. Venture into the aging cellars, where prosciutti gracefully hang and dry under salt. To cap off the experience, savor a tasting of the delectable cold meats produced and sold in the butcher’s shop

Lunch in town
The tour of Lari ends with a delicious lunch at a restaurant in town with 2 different types of Pasta from the company Martelli and two delicious sauces (1 glass of wine per person included). Before lunch we will stop at a local bar to taste the very famous cherry liquor of the village.

Cheese tasting at a local shop
In the afternoon, we will move to a local shop where you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in the flavors of delicious cheeses made from cow, sheep, and goat milk. Our guide will walk you through the intricate steps of optimal cheese production. If available, we will visit the workroom where these delightful cheeses come to life.
